PreS-Gr 2-Readers follow Isabelle and her puppy Pickle as they go on an amazing, season-related journey in their neighborhood, accompanied by the sounds of Antonio Vivaldi's The Four Seasons. Young children will enjoy the interactive experience of pressing musical buttons to "hear" the seasons as they see them interpreted through the vibrant and expressive illustrations. The end pages include a short biography of the famous composer. Children have the opportunity to hear the music again on the last page, with simple descriptions of each movement to explain how it represents a season. This book brings classical music to life for youngsters as they learn about the natural world. Because this resource requires a battery to work the music, it may be less than optimal for a library setting.
