Review by Library Journal Review

Manga and origami combine in origami artists Noguchi and Friedman's guide. An introductory section discusses origami fundamentals, explains symbols used in detailed folding diagrams throughout, and walks readers through folding and assembling base parts of the character's figure. While all of the step-by-step projects featured are complex (and bend the rules of origami a bit by using glue), the difficulty of each is noted via a star rating from beginner through expert. The bulk of the book provides specific instructions on folding additional adornments, such as clothing or hair, to make 20 distinct manga personalities. Charming photographs of the finished characters amid appropriate settings accompany the designs. VERDICT Crafty manga fanatics and experienced origami practitioners will enjoy this unique guide to creating miniature three-dimensional characters. © Copyright 2016.
