Gr 3-5-In this installment of the mystery series, Griffin Bing and his crime-solving pals are under suspicion when the valuable Star of Prague goes missing during Cedarville's annual Santa's Workshop Holiday Spectacular. After all, its disappearance has led to the event's cancellation, letting them off the hook as volunteer elves. But there are plenty of other suspects, and these tenacious middle school sleuths are willing to break a lot of rules to get to the truth of the matter. Some of the myriad subplots are on the ridiculous side, but the outcome never gets predictable. VERDICT Korman's fans will enjoy this lighthearted Christmas puzzle.-Linda Israelson, Los Angeles Public Library © Copyright 2016.
