In this entertaining follow-up to From the Notebooks of a Middle School Princess (2015), sixth-grader Olivia Grace Harrison now Princess Olivia is living in Genovia and adjusting to royal life. And though she's happy to finally live with family who truly care about her, it's not all smooth sailing, especially when it comes to getting ready for her half-sister Princess Mia's upcoming nuptials, during which Olivia has to deal with everything from choosing color schemes to iguanas running rampant on the palace grounds. Plus, Olivia unexpectedly has to start attending the Royal Genovian Academy, where she must contend with mean-girl Luisa and squelch (as kindly as possible) the unwanted advances of very uncool classmate Prince Gunther. As the wedding approaches, hullabaloo and snafus escalate, but a new perspective about family brings about a happy resolution after all. In her journal-style narrative incorporating both humorous and touching moments, likable, engaging Olivia continues to navigate the joys and challenges of being a modern-day princess. Sure to be popular with fans of the series. Final illustrations not seen.--Rosenfeld, Shelle Copyright 2016 Booklist

Book two in this entertaining Princess Diaries spinoff series revolves around the royal wedding of Princess Olivia's half sister, Mia. There's still so much to prepare, but Olivia is preoccupied with starting school, contending with her snobby cousin Luisa, and keeping her dog from running amok. Olivia's engaging journal-like prose, mixed with lists, text messages, and notes, is also peppered with detailed black-and-white illustrations. (c) Copyright 2017.
