Lando Calrissian just needs one good job to pay off his debts and set himself up. But he's the only one of his crew who thinks that his latest heist stealing a ship filled with valuable art and artifacts will actually succeed. Soule dives into the background of the roguish charmer Lando, friend of Han Solo, before he became the suave manager of Cloud City. What starts out as a fun crime caper soon becomes a struggle for physical and mental survival as the thieves Lando has assembled discover that the ship holds secrets they aren't prepared to handle. Soule's characters are an intriguing and compelling bunch, with none wholly good or wholly bad. Several of the characters are strong, capable, intelligent women, and Maleev gives all of them dignity with his realistic art. He and Soule have a terrific sense of timing, especially in fight scenes, and Paul Mounts' colors give the depth needed to bring either a spaceship or a boudoir to life. A terrific addition to graphic novel and Star Wars collections.--Wildsmith, Snow Copyright 2016 Booklist

Entrepreneur-smuggler Lando Calrissian just wants to pay his debts when he steals a pleasure ship, reportedly owned by "rich Imperial scum" and full of art he can sell for a bundle. Unfortunately, the "rich Imperial scum" happens to be Emperor Palpatine, and soon assassins are out for Calrissian's hide. This entertaining stand-alone adventure has sassy and believable dialog plus realistic art with a modern feel and theme-appropriate coloring. All ages. © Copyright 2016.
