Review by Booklist Review

In prose that will remind readers of the film Adaptation (where a writer struggles to write about a topic, then writes himself into the film), struggling to write about a topic, popular blogger Manson undertakes a similar meta-exercise in existential futility. As in his blog, he is liberal with his profanity and unapologetic about his tone presumably because he doesn't give a f*ck. However, in a diametrical opposition, the same seemingly flippant attitude that will turn some readers off reveals wisdom many readers will likely appreciate. Manson's philosophy allows people to bask in the glow of their life's failures, in order to set off a universal code that could turn their lives into what they want them to be, even if it's not what they think they want. Filled with many examples of people who failed time and again only to succeed once they embraced their failures, Manson's offbeat self-help book could help readers relax into, and even have a little fun with, the perceived dark spots in their lives.--Mattalia, Glendy X.
