According to Wikipedia, Art Quilts are an art form that uses both modern and traditional quilting techniques to create art objects. Author and quilter Linzee Kull McCray’s new book “Art Quilts of the Midwest” showcases the work of 20 artists whose works were inspired by life in the Midwest. Astrid Bennet, who wrote the forward, speaks about art quilts and the fabrics used in them. Erick Wolfmeyer, the only Iowa artist included in the book, shows a 10 minute film about his work.
