Review by Library Journal Review

In adapting novelist Patricia Highsmith's Ripley's Game, Wim Wenders (Paris, Texas; Wings of Desire) puts his own spin (and title) on this fatalistic thriller about an art forger (Dennis Hopper) who compels a terminally ill picture framer (Bruno Ganz) to turn hit man in order to provide for his wife and young son. With cameos by directors such as Samuel Fuller and Nicholas Ray lending a wink to audiences, this version offers a genre homage more likely to be appreciated by film buffs than the conventional adaptation released under the original title starring John Malkovich.
