Review by Library Journal Review

In culinary tourism shows, there are hosts such as Anthony Bourdain who are insiders in the cooking world, and others like television writer and producer Phil Rosenthal (Everybody Loves Raymond) who are not. His outsider perspective is especially relatable for viewers hoping to expand their palates as he conveys wonder at and awe for the marvelous foods he tries. Visiting six somewhat predictable places (Tokyo, Italy, Paris, Hong Kong, Barcelona, Los Angeles), he manages to sample what truly looks to be the best fare on offer-one Tokyo meal features a plate with live forest sounds. There is little that Rosenthal will not taste or does not like. Foodies may prefer a guide who approaches the topic a little more authoritatively; some of our host's humor and demeanor may not land with all audiences. VERDICT Overall, production values are excellent, and Rosenthal is generous in attention to and appreciation of the people he meets. A second season with visits to some offbeat destinations would be welcome.
