Lauren (the Beautiful Bastard series) delivers a lively and fast-moving contemporary story of inevitable romance between best friends. San Diego-based graphic novelist Lola Castle is thrilled that Hollywood wants to make a big-budget action movie out of her book Razor Fish. To her annoyance, the guys in Hollywood keep trying to change her coming-of-age story into a human/alien romance. Fortunately she has the full support of her friends, especially her longtime crush, Australian-born comic store owner Oliver Lore. To her surprise, Oliver admits he has strong feelings for her as well, which becomes one more complication in Lola's already overwhelmed life. Torn between her need to work and her desire for time with Oliver, Lola could lose both. Lauren provides plenty of steamy romance and sex to keep the story simmering.
