Review by Library Journal Review
Leslie's latest (Keeping a Nature Journal) offers a guide for reconnecting to the world through nature. The activities can be as simple as stepping outside the house or -office, counting to five, and noting what the sky, trees, or insects are doing. Leslie urges the use of all our senses-to smell, listen, look, and feel-flowers, rocks, tree bark, and other aspects of nature that are usually overlooked. She advises taking a night walk or exploring spider webs to enrich understanding of the surrounding environment. Intriguing facts and beautiful color diagrams and photographs pull the reader into desiring to learn more about the great outdoors. VERDICT A remarkable book for solitary reading or sharing with children. © Copyright 2015. Library Journals LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Media Source, Inc. No redistribution permitted.
