This guide by manga artist and instructor Petrovic' is packed full of step-by-step demonstrations addressing many aspects of manga. An introduction section provides historical background on manga and anime, including a brief biographical sketch of Osamu Tezuka, the "father of manga" and creator of Astro Boy. Exercises include drawing human anatomy; clothing and accessories, such as eyeglasses, umbrellas, and phones; and more fanciful creatures such as chibis. Issues of inking, shading, and using screen tone gradient sheets are all discussed along the way. The final presentation leads readers through creating a complete comic page. Fans of this manual can check out the author's highly viewed videos on YouTube, where she is known as Mistiqarts.
