In this new collection of stories, Anna and her friends Froga, Ron, Bubu, and Christopher deal humorously with various everyday situations. Christopher becomes tongue-tied around his friend Agatha, and Ron complicates matters with his comments. The friends go to a new restaurant, only to experience terrible service and horrible food. When they all play mini golf, Bubu annoys everyone with his cheating. Other stories involve an afternoon at the swimming pool, putting on a garage sale, and adventures in fandom. Ricard's fine-lined, childlike figures and bright pops of flat color have an appealingly offbeat quality, and while this lacks some of the cutesy, warm resolutions the artwork seems to suggest, kids who appreciate their characters a little on the salty side will get right on board. Some of the vocabulary might be a little beyond the younger end of the age group, but most readers should be able to figure out the meaning in context. Though pranks and gentle jabs are present throughout, Ricard still keeps everything lighthearted and fun.--Kan, Kat Copyright 2016 Booklist
