Review by Booklist Review

Lex Luther's vendetta against Superman continues in this Level 2 (Reading with Help) addition to the I Can Read! series. This time, he has hired a scientist to develop weapons to kill the superhero. First, Luther uses one gadget to free two Kryptonian criminals to help carry out his murderous plan. Next, the evildoers lure Superman into a trap and blast him with red Kryptonite but instead of killing him, it causes him to grow to enormous heights, which makes capturing the bad guys no big deal. As kids read, they will encounter longer sentences (two to four per page) and slight wordplay, mostly related to Superman's giant size. The story's action and dynamic comic art will draw in superhero fans, helping them on their way to becoming huge readers.--Smith, Julia Copyright 2015 Booklist
