Review by Library Journal Review

Crochet patterns designated as "quick" often use bulky yarn or contain simple shapes or stitch patterns. That isn't the case in Zientara's (It Girl Crochet) latest, which features sophisticated accessories crocheted in a number of yarns. The majority of the projects are scarves, shawls, and hats, mainly for women, but there are a few exceptions, including a pair of lacy fingerless mitts, socks made with a combination of Tunisian and regular crochet, and a clever pair of slippers in which a series of square motifs is seamed into comfy (and easy to customize) footwear. Written instructions are provided for every design; charted guidelines are included as needed. Zientara further views small, quick-to-crochet accessories as being the ideal place to practice a new stitch or technique, such as cabling, Tunisian crochet colorwork, thread crochet, or post crochet, and she presents a brief overview of these techniques as they appear in the book. -VERDICT This assortment of quick, stylish crochet projects will appeal to first-time and intermediate crocheters. © Copyright 2015.
