Review by Booklist Review

Leeds, professional organizer and author of One Year to an Organized Life (2008), takes on one of life's most stressful events, moving, as her latest challenge. She lays out an eight-week master plan that covers everything from finding a mover to unpacking at the new location. Using her trademark Zen organizing approach, the author moves systematically through each room, offering suggestions on paring down possessions, organizing, and packing. Leeds presents convincing arguments for sorting and tossing before the move and shares stories of clients who found freedom in their newly emptied spaces. Reminders covering all the key details notifying everyone from family to dentist, shutting off utilities, forwarding mail, transferring medical records, etc. are sprinkled throughout, along with suggestions for ways to relieve the accompanying stress. Each chapter ends with a checklist and a note of congratulations on all that's been accomplished. Although focusing on traditional moves, there are also suggestions for college students and downsizing retirees. Leeds' logical, practical advice will be welcomed by anyone eyeing a new residence.--Smith, Candace Copyright 2015 Booklist
