Leonora Craven knows her brother Jonny's death was no accident. Jonny was murdered, and Leonora intends to prove that the Lords of Anarchy, England's most notorious driving club, is responsible. But because Leonora is a woman, she doesn't have access to the club. She does knows that Frederick Lisle, Jonny's best friend, would have no problem infiltrating and securing the evidence she needs, but she isn't positive Freddy would be willing to help her since she broke their engagement five years ago. Fortunately, Freddy would like nothing better than to see Jonny's death avenged. However, the only way he and Leonora can spend so much time together without attracting gossip is if they pretend to be engaged, once again. Collins gives a clever wink and a nod to the television show Sons of Anarchy in her latest captivating Regency, which kicks off her new Lords of Anarchy series. Readers who relish historical romances served up with a generous measure of dangerous intrigue and sizzling sensuality will definitely want to test drive this smartly crafted tale.--Charles, John Copyright 2015 Booklist

Collins (the Wicked Widows series) launches the Lords of Anarchy historical series with the lure of love and mystery. Leonora Craven bemoans her limited rights as a woman in Regency England and knows that she must seek the help of her former betrothed, Lord Frederick Lisle, to solve the murder of her brother, Jonathan. Lenora believes that Jonathan's death was linked to his membership in the Lords of Anarchy club. Freddy proposes that in order to gain entry to events hosted by the Lords of Anarchy, he and Leonora repair their broken engagement. True attraction underlies the false arrangement, but Leonora can't bear to explain why she broke things off years ago. The sensuous love scenes are evenly matched with a captivating mystery as Leonora and Freddy work together to uncover the culprit, often putting their own lives in danger. This is a fresh and promising start to the series. Agent: Holly Root, Waxman Leavell Literary Agency. (Mar.) © Copyright PWxyz, LLC. All rights reserved.
