Review by Horn Book Review

Five snake species from around the world are introduced in this slight book intended for pre-readers. There's not much information ("It shows its fangs. Fangs help it hunt"); the real draw are the close-up photos on every page, for which the bare-bones text serves as captions. A vocabulary tree, habitat map, and drawing activity reinforce the information presented in the leveled text. (c) Copyright 2016. The Horn Book, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Media Source, Inc.
