Review by Booklist Review

Courting reluctant readers and browsers alike, titles in the Biggest, Baddest Books series offer kids magazine-style pages stuffed with full-color, high-resolution photos and bite-size facts about a wide range of fascinating topics. Caves presents information about cave structures and formation, some strange creatures that reside in caves (such as the human fish), and the biggest, longest, and deepest caves on the planet. While the scattershot layout is ideal for casual browsers, a unifying narrative would have been useful for providing context to the panoply of information, and the glossary is less than comprehensive. Still, many kids interested in weird and wild facts will get a kick out of this accessible, punchy series, which might serve as a useful springboard for further reading.--Hunter, Sarah Copyright 2015 Booklist
