Review by Library Journal Review

Mod Podge has come a long way since its invention in 1967. It's no longer just for traditional decoupage-there are formulas designed to work with a variety of materials, including fabric and furniture; patterns that provide specific effects such as glow-in-the-dark; and variations that add color or glitter. In this collection, a diverse mix of craft bloggers and authors share their ideas for working with products from the Mod Podge line. There's plenty of traditional decoupage, including ideas for picture frames, decorative letters, and boxes but also a number of activities that use Mod Podge in different ways, such as the free-form bowl made with Mod Podge Sparkle, a bag of confetti, a balloon, and the upcycled clutch that uses Mod Podge Fabric to adhere a premade lace appliqué to a plain bag. Overall, the designs have a contemporary look, but a chapter featuring throwback projects evokes a 1960s and 1970s style. VERDICT Upcyclers and paper crafters will especially enjoy this fun collection-and so will crafters who survived decoupage's 1970s heyday. © Copyright 2015.
