Boris the adventure-seeking warthog is back for field day. He would love, just once, to beat Eddie, who not only wins everything but does so with a smirk on his entitled face. With the help of his parents, Boris sets up a backyard training field where he and his best friends Alice and Frederick practice and dream of field day glory. Boris continues to charm, in no small part because of Joyner's humorous comic-style illustrations. There is a sweetly surprising ending that reinforces the importance of sportsmanship and loyalty even while reaching for gold.
