Former attack dog Luther is supposed to be on his best behavior. But whenever Ralph's Exterminators drives its truck through the neighborhood, Luther takes off running. Luther's owner is beside herself, so when her friend Melissa comes up with the Hover for the school Invent-a-Palooza to help stop Luther from running, Savannah knows it's the invention that will win. When Melissa's invention is stolen, the friends join together to find it. Meanwhile, Griffin (our human protagonist) is caught in an inventing battle with his archenemy. From escaping dogs to conspiracy-theorist neighbors, the plot is packed with high jinks and hilarity. The mystery is light, and the focus is more on the silly adventures. Fans of Luther's previous misbehaviors are sure to enjoy another romp.--Thompson, Sarah Bean Copyright 2015 Booklist

Gr 5-7-In this seventh book of the wacky and wildly popular mystery series, Griffin Bing and his friends take part in a competition for aspiring inventors. High jinks and humor abound in this fast-paced, dialogue-heavy adventure when the government gets involved. Korman also folds in some light commentary on gender and stereotypes, with a bit of a rift developing in Griffin's social circle over his assumption that tech-savvy Melissa will use her skills to help him rather than focus on her own invention. Fans are in for a rip-roaring good time. (c) Copyright 2015. Library Journals LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Media Source, Inc. No redistribution permitted.

Griffin Bing has bet his long-time adversary, Darren Vader, that he can win the Invent-a-Palooza, but he's got zero ideas. Meanwhile, uber-techie friend Melissa isn't even in Griffin's corner--she's too busy creating her own invention to help keep Savannah's Doberman from chasing cars. Pitch-perfect middle-school mentalities work well against the comic mystery plot in this seventh addition to the series. (c) Copyright 2015.
