PreS-A little girl smooches her way through the animal kingdom, kissing everything from a tall giraffe to a preposterous rhinoceros. At the end, of course, her mom is waiting for the biggest kiss of all. Each page features two rhyming couplets accompanied by a spread done in watercolors. The rhymes are sometimes awkward-as in the case of sloth and both-but the details in the artwork are on-target for the intended audience, featuring rich colors, smiling animals, and a chubby toddler protagonist. A slight but sweet story good for one-on-one sharing.-Martha Link Yesowitch, Charlotte Mecklenburg Library, NC (c) Copyright 2014.
