Review by Booklist Review
A second edition often involves inserting some new language and occasionally updating illustrations. Not so for master crocheter and author Eckman, who presents a definitively revised guide that reflects the latest trends. In her inimitable question-and-answer style, she features the most recently unearthed techniques (do remember: what's old is new again in this and other needlework books), like Tunisian crochet and Bruges and Clones laces. There are brief illustrations, now, for both left- and right-handed stitchers. And new yarns and new tools (or adaptive ones) are explored with helpful tips and caveats. What remains intact from edition one? Great appendixes (such as standard crochet abbreviations, common crochet terms and phrases, and others) and a terrific sense of new and professional needleworker needs.--Jacobs, Barbara Copyright 2014 Booklist
