The amazing Spider-Man

After a bizarre brain swap with villainous Dr. Octopus, Peter Parker is once again in his own body and back to being Spider-Man. Recovering from the transformation, Parker not only has to manage his own company and new girlfriend but also reestablish his reputation as a superhero, as well as assist superhero newbie Silk, a mysterious woman who (spoiler alert!) was bitten by the same spider that gave Parker his powers. Slott does a good job of cleaning up the mess in the wake of what was likely the most outlandish Spider-Man story line in recent memory, but the addition of Silk, with her bizarre backstory and costume, doesn't really put the comic entirely back on the tracks. It's a minor misstep, however, and Slott gets plenty more right, with lots of the action and one-liners that Spidey fans love. And with the addition of a mentally tortured Electro and a jaded, vengeful Black Cat, Slott is able to breathe new life into some old characters.
