Review by Booklist Review

This bucket list offers a mix of implausible challenges and slam dunks all presented with brightly colored photos and graphics and some step-by-step instructions or at least helpful advice. Arranged in no particular order, the suggestions range from easily accomplished tasks, like doing a good deed anonymously (#1), playing in mud (#17), and watching a black-and-white movie (#46), to lifelong enterprises, such as learning to play an instrument (#18), learning to speak another language (#48), and discovering your personal style (#96). Easy peasy! Though readers are urged to plant a garden (#33) or donate items to a charity (#50), they are left to figure out for themselves how to proceed, though several food-related activities come with recipes, an improv theater professional steps in with advice on how to tell a joke (#2), and other experts weigh in with inspirational remarks or specific directions. As Gerry points out, young people get just 6,570 days before they become legal adults so here are ideas for active, creative ways to use that time.--Peters, John Copyright 2010 Booklist
