Review by Booklist Review

Kitty and friends have many a food-related escapade in this funny, wordless (excluding well-placed onomatopoeia) follow-up to Hello Kitty: Here We Go! (2013). Kicking off with a spicy adventure, Kitty and Thomas find many practical uses for the flames spewing from Thomas' mouth after ingesting a hot chili. Endearing interstitials featuring ice cream purchases, jelly-bean counting, and cake-baking forays break up the longer stories. One notable tale features an alien abduction send-up, wherein Kitty and her new Martian pal bake a pie that bites back, while another includes a horror movie mummy gag, complete with a sudden switch to black-and-white art, as a distracted Dear Daniel tries to prepare a spaghetti dinner. The cleverness of the execution and the bright cheeriness of the design leaves plenty more to gush over. Some of the youngest readers might need a little help picking up on background clues and punch lines that might run right past them, but the sweet surprises will entertain everyone following along.--Jones, Courtney Copyright 2014 Booklist
