Review by Booklist Review
These new books in the Holidays series provide a basic introduction to global celebrations for young readers. Each book begins with a chapter introducing the holiday and featuring historical information on the holiday's origins. The text is large and easy to read, and the photos are adequate and generally accompanied by interesting facts. However, the books' layout often leaves surplus white space that is not particularly appealing. Diwali includes not only the story of the holiday but also more general information about India that would make it particularly useful in a world-cultures context. Overall, the books provide somewhat quirky but interesting, age-appropriate explorations of these holidays.--Aronin, Miriam Copyright 2014 Booklist

PreS-Gr 1-A brief look at both religious and secular holidays. Bright white backgrounds with a succinct sentence on the left of each spread is illustrated with full color photographs that bleed over from the right page. Included at the end of each title is a code to use online to access crafts, games, and videos related to each holiday. VERDICT A useful introductory series to circulate in public library early learning collections and in preschool settings. © Copyright 2018.
