In this third Grimmtastic Girls installment, Snow White takes her turn (after Cinderella and Little Red Riding Hood) as the central character at Grimm Academy. The 12-year-old begins the book reliant on her many good-luck charms to deal with her seemingly malevolent stepmother, Ms. Wicked. As she and her friends continue to work against the evil forces besetting the school, Snow realizes that a good part of luck is being prepared. The series seems overly prince-obsessed (and its covers are awfully pink and cartoony), but Holub and Williams' clever characters, such as the tantrum-prone academy principal, Rumpelstiltskin, will divert young readers not yet ready for Hogwarts and other complicated realms.--Nolan, Abby Copyright 2014 Booklist
