Review by Booklist Review

The tables are turned in this amusing addition to the My Weird School Special series. Yes, it's weird to have a My Weird School book set during summer vacation, but it's doubly weird when A.J. and his classroom nemesis, Andrea, are living under the same roof for a week. Weirder still, the story is narrated by Andrea, who refers to A.J. as Arlo or (weirdest yet) my boyfriend and future husband. A.J. may be in agony, but Andrea is in her element as they shop for school supplies and even attend a back-to-school day camp together. Gutman's clearly enjoying himself, creating a memorably wacky pen salesman within the story and offering a history of school supplies, several activity pages, and some My Weird School Daze trivia questions in the back matter. Series fans will find plenty to amuse them, from A.J.'s novel ideas about playing with Andrea's Barbie collection to Paillot's accessible, digital illustrations. Weirdly fun.--Phelan, Carolyn Copyright 2014 Booklist
