Sidney Sinclair vents all of her frustration with her ex-fiance on a handsome but arrogant FBI agent who hits on her at a coffeehouse by telling him that she knows he is a player, and she is looking for something substantial. Minutes later, she discovers the agent is the brother of her sister's new fiance. Vaughn knows Sidney's assessment of him was pretty accurate, but why can't he enjoy women? The problem is that he is way too attracted to Sidney, even with her list of requirements for a boyfriend. They become friends and then add benefits in rising romance author James' (Love Irresistibly, 2013) sparkling, sexy love story that delivers as much emotional warmth as sensual heat. Action at Vaughn's job is interspersed with interesting details about Sidney's high-powered financial career, and James' smart heroines and fun dialogue are becoming her signature elements. Attraction sparks between FBI agent Vaughn Roberts and Sidney Sinclair when they meet, but she's looking for a relationship, not a playera situation that becomes increasingly complicated when they're forced to plan a wedding together.Professionally, Sidney has reached the pinnacle of her career, moving back from New York to Chicago to accept the position of her dreams. Which almost makes up for the fact that the man she thought was her perfect match cheated on her two weeks before they were supposed to get married, six months ago: "As a director at one of the most successful private equity firms in the country, she had great instincts when it came to determining whether a company was a good or bad investment....Now she simply needed to apply those same instincts to her personal life."
