Review by School Library Journal Review

PreS-Gr 2-This charming collection of episodes from three television series is sure to please science and nature lovers. Join elephant Mama Mirabelle and baby Max, who live in an African savannah, as they learn about nocturnal creatures, other wild mammals, and make new friends. This mostly animated series teaches viewers interesting facts about animals, such as elephants and whales, and children will learn and embrace new information and valuable life lessons about being themselves. In addition to Mama Mirabelle's Home Movies, which features real-life animal footage that she shows to the youngsters, this DVD includes Toot & Puddle videos, where the duo and their friends learn about foods that can be found in the forest, and Are We There Yet? World Adventures, in which real kids around the world head to Canada to ride the Tundra Buggy to see polar bears, and hand feed giraffes being rehabilitated at the Giraffe Center in Kenya. Each show has its own website where viewers can watch more episodes, play games, and find resources for teachers and parents.-Katy Charles, Virgil Elementary School, Cortland, NY (c) Copyright 2014.
