K-Gr 2-It's moving day and Cleo opens one eye and yawns. The orange-striped cat, Caspar the dog, and their family are moving to another house nearby. Not only does their new home have a big yard with lots to see and smell, but it even has a tree house. The bold, acrylic illustrations have an underlying red tone that adds a level of texture and depth to the paintings. This warm, loosely rhyming story features large print and minimal text on full-bleed pages, and presents moving in a safe and comforting light. It could be used to ease anxiety about the experience or as a short read-aloud.-Genevieve Gallagher, Orange County Public Library, VA (c) Copyright 2010. Due to some awkward phrasing, the texts of the two newest Cleo books are not as snappily written as their predecessors. However, the acrylic artwork, which makes an impact with bold black lines and vibrant colors, is as lively as ever. Fans of the marmalade-colored tabby will appreciate her new adventures as she moves to a new house and rides on a sled.
