Review by Horn Book Review

This classic story seems poorly suited for the board book format. Toddlers may find the dachshund appealing, but they won't appreciate the text (it's not very brief) or the subject matter (how many toddlers are learning to whistle?). The vibrant collages--stunning in the original picture book--weren't intended to attract babies. From HORN BOOK Fall 1998, (c) Copyright 2010.
