Review by Library Journal Review

These exercises, based on yoga and Pilates, are intended to maintain full range of motion in arthritic joints and, by strengthening muscles, to reduce the pressure on these joints. Designed by sports medicine specialist Vijat Vad, author of a book of the same name, each movement is described here, while a model demonstrates. There are workouts for beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels, each between 15 and 20 minutes in length. Vad also provides advice on the incorporation into one's life of an anti-inflammatory diet and vitamin supplements that can help reduce pain. These exercises are simple and don't demand any great flexibility; virtually anyone can do them. VERDICT Highly recommended for people suffering with any type of arthritis.-Susan B.
