Review by Booklist Review

The thing about origami books is that the projects usually look hard. Here they look relatively easy, and the outcomes are so adorable, kids will at least want to give them a try. Beginning with origami basics, the book moves on and shows kids how to make a kitten's head, a fish, lucky stars, baby birds, cupcakes, birthday cards, and more. As a bonus, this includes ways to specialize the finished product for instance, instructions for mirror writing and for how to play the fortune-telling game. This is bright and pretty to look at, with pages of pink and blue, photographs of the origami, and simple computer-generated bunnies and kitties. One problem: the 10 pages of pretty patterned paper at the book's conclusion. Not suitable for circulation, but librarians will probably be tempted to try a few projects themselves.--Cooper, Ilene Copyright 2010 Booklist
