Review by Booklist Review

Alhough no longer a household necessity, candles do set a celebratory mood for occasions both small and large. When fashioned of ecologically conscious materials specifically, beeswax, palm wax, and soy wax these light sources appeal to an even wider variety of audiences. Ittner teaches the easy ways to create 31 different yet simple candles. Divided first by primary material used, each design features tools, numbered step-by-step instructions, and color photographs as well as frequent notes about ensuring candle-making success. Tips like placing candles in the refrigerator to remove them from the molds and using a nylon stocking to get rid of shaving marks proliferate; more important is to witness the author and her contributing designers' dedication to the production of handmade lights.--Jacobs, Barbara Copyright 2010 Booklist
