Review by Library Journal Review

The beauty of Craftsman furniture is defined by its construction and joinery. Fairham, author of several woodworking books in the 1920s, was an accomplished woodworker of that time. This reproduced book contains his original line drawings showing the details of different joinery techniques and designs. All work is done with hand tools, and it is assumed the reader has contemporary woodworking expertise. The index is useful, but citations in the text no longer correlate to the correct page.ÅVERDICT This is more a novelty book than an actual workbook. While a devoted hand craftsman may rediscover historic techniques, this is not for the general user.ÅA more practical choice would be Joinery Tips & Techniques (Editors of Popular Woodworking, 2012).
