Review by Booklist Review

This Martha Speaks volume includes six stories about Martha, the talking dog, adapted from the animated series on PBS Kids. Among the adventures, Martha accidentally downloads herself into Alice's laptop computer, innocently aids and abets some doggy crooks who steal meat from Karl the butcher, and competes with a robotic dog. Young readers who may not watch Martha on TV will find a cast picture at the beginning of the book to help identify the characters. Pages at the end of the book encourage kids to draw their own comics.--Kan, Kat Copyright 2010 Booklist

Review by Horn Book Review

In this glossy package of six colorful comic-strip vignettes adapted from TV series teleplays, Martha the talking dog has a series of adventures with a cast of canine characters. These easy-to-follow but slight tales will make younger readers, mostly fans of the show, excited to be spending more time with the familiar character. Activities for readers to create their own comics are appended. (c) Copyright 2013. The Horn Book, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Media Source, Inc. No redistribution permitted.
