Jackson and Bush, who are sisters as well as co-authors, follow Wicked Game and Wicked Lies with this superb supernatural thriller set on the Oregon coast. Det. Savannah Dunbar of the Tillamook County Sheriff's Department is nearing the end of her pregnancy, acting as a surrogate for her sister, Kristina, and brother-in-law, Hale. Determined to work until she gives birth, Savannah ignores her own concerns over her sister's nervousness and odd behavior while investigating several murders. Reclusive Catherine Rutledge, who runs the Siren Song Colony with her many supernaturally gifted nieces, asks Savannah to conduct DNA tests on the knife that killed Catherine's sister, Mary, who had an unusual ability to seduce men. Savannah's also trying to find the person who killed a local couple with ties to Hale's development company. Then Kristina is injured and Hale is a prime suspect. Jackson and Bush's latest thriller is a masterpiece of romantic suspense with enough twists and turns to keep the reader eagerly anticipating the breathtaking conclusion.
