Review by School Library Journal Review

K-Gr 1-Reinforcing the understanding that scientists don't really know what dinosaurs looked like, the illustrations in these small volumes reflect their many possible appearances. The prehistoric subjects are depicted with broad ranges of colors, skin textures and feathers, etc. The art varies widely in style and quality of reproduction and is overall dramatic. Readers in search of gore will find plenty of it in Velociraptor as well as in one scene in Tyrannosaurus Rex. The texts are written in dry generalities and close with boilerplate spreads about dinosaur "bones" (meaning fossils) and notes to adults suggesting activities. (c) Copyright 2012.
