In this second volume in Kleypas's "Friday Harbor" trilogy, glass artist Lucy Martin has an ideal life until her boyfriend breaks up with her. Even worse, he's involved with her sister, who Lucy feels has been spoiled and catered to her entire life. Lucy moves on, living with innkeeper friends until a bicycle accident causes her to seek assistance from Sam Nolan, a local vineyard owner. Sam has scrupulously avoided commitment, and Lucy is still suffering from the breakup and in no rush to begin another relationship. VERDICT Kleypas inserts magic into the slow-moving plot, which is read professionally by Tanya Eby. Recommended primarily for Kleypas's many fans.
