Review by Booklist Review
This book is so full of pictures that it seems as if there is hardly any text. However, the instruction is creatively inserted so that it almost appears to be photo captions. The tone is informative, helpful, and friendly, with a playfulness that finds inspiration in experimentation. The focus is on creativity rather than skill level, with an abundance of options, ideas, suggestions, and tips. Every page has multiple full-color pictures, showcasing different designs, colors, and options, concentrating on finished products. Projects are mostly fast and inexpensive, many using household items in creative ways such as leaves, instant tea, salts, string, even cut-up flip-flops for stamping tools. The range in types of paper and materials is as inspiring as the finished products. Each chapter ends with a paper craft. Guhin's other books include Glorious Glue: Art with Adhesives (1995) and Image Art Workshop (2009), and she is coauthor of The Complete Photo Guide to Creative Painting (2010)as well as a blog (http://mixedmediamanic.blogspot.com). This book has more than enough to keep crafters of all ages busy.--Smith, Lani Copyright 2010 Booklist
