Review by Horn Book Review

The development of life on earth is narrated, oddly, in the universe's first-person voice. While the core themes about evolution are accurate if anthropomorphized, the perspective is not exactly mainstream science (evolution theories discussed give equal treatment to scientifically acceptable and scientifically unacceptable theories). The swirling color artwork and multi-colored and -size type are distracting. From HORN BOOK Fall 2003, (c) Copyright 2010. The Horn Book, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Media Source, Inc.
