Review by Library Journal Review

Licensed clinical social worker Battenhausen pulls from his research and more than 20 years of practice to offer strategies for people who want to feel better about themselves, the work they do, and the world in which they live. His method revolves around developing enough emotional invincibility to remain calm in the midst of negative events and have the sense to cease negative self-talk and believe that positive change is possible. The author emphasizes the necessity of self-appreciation and healthy self-talk and coaches readers in using each in a variety of stressful situations. Given the epidemic proportions of depression in our culture, Battenhausen's book is a valuable mental-health tool. (c) Copyright 2011.
