Review by Booklist Review

When Froggy and his family fly to Hawaii for fun in the sun, they enjoy hiking, hula dancing, surfing, and snorkeling. Wired Froggy nearly tumbles down a waterfall and almost falls into a smoldering volcano, but his parents help him avoid most disasters. From the popular Froggy series, this features bright, expressive, cartoon-style illustrations that are often amusing, though the story is just a series of incidents loosely connected by the vacation theme. Still, it's hard to resist this cheerful amphibian family when they don Hawaiian shirts, sarongs, and a (let's face it, redundant) wetsuits.--Phelan, Caroly. Copyright 2010 Booklist

Review by Horn Book Review

Froggy is psyched to be going with his family on vacation. Even in Hawaii, though, trouble finds the ever-lovable amphibian--coconuts, waterfalls, volcanoes, and ill-packed suitcases. Froggy fans will be shaking their heads at his excitable ways while knowing readers will agree with Froggy's father's assessment: sometimes one needs a vacation from vacation. Bright, expressive illustrations capture the antics. (c) Copyright 2011. The Horn Book, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Media Source, Inc. No redistribution permitted.
