Jordan Rhodes seems to have it all: money, fame, beauty, and her own successful business doing what she loves, introducing people to exceptional wines. But her twin brother Kyle is serving hard time after crashing Twitter in an emotional reaction to his girlfriend's very public breakup with him. The FBI offers to commute Kyle's sentence to time served if Jordan cooperates by getting one of their people into a very exclusive charity fundraiser. James' sassy, suspenseful sequel to Something About You (2010) exhibits her trademark sizzle and wit while focusing attention on another FBI undercover agent assigned to ferret out the secrets of Chicago's Mob. James pits Nick McCall's bad-boy appeal against Jordan's warm heart in a classic romance trope and concludes with tantalizing hints about future installments set in the same intriguing venue.--Welch, Lynne Copyright 2010 Booklist

The FBI needs the help of heiress, wine expert, and Chicago wine shop owner Jordan Rhodes to bug the office of suspected money launderer Xander Eckhart. Xander hosts an annual high-priced fundraiser that's invite-only, and Jordan is on the guest list. Dangling a pardon for Jordan's brother as incentive is downright sleazy, but trying to nail crime boss Roberto Martino is the agency's object number one. Posing as Jordan's boyfriend was not Nick McCall's assignment, but the original agent has the flu, and it's just one night, right? Then Xander expresses a personal interest in Jordan, making it imperative to continue the charade. Nick figures there are worse ops than pretending to be the lover of a beautiful woman. In the bargain, he's learning a whole lot about wine. Verdict With a nod to Alfred Hitchcock's Notorious, this latest from James (Something About You) blends plenty of sparkle with a vineyard-full of oenological detail. The tension between a rugged, sarcastic, relationship-averse, yet thoughtful hero and an independent entrepreneur heroine builds nicely and keeps pace with the suspense over being caught in the act. Sexy fun, romance fans will pop their corks over this one.-Bette-Lee Fox, Library Journal (c) Copyright 2011. Library Journals LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Media Source, Inc.
