Review by Booklist Review

Biscuit the lovable pup is back in the latest entry in the My First I Can Read! series. This time the puppy and his owner go for walk to Grandpa's house. However, it proves to be a struggle as Biscuit is more interested in digging holes and catching birds than getting to the destination, though on one page he even helps lead himself. The pair find Grandpa in the store and note that a walk with Grandpa is the best walk of all. Kids will enjoy the high jinks of Biscuit in this long-running series starting with Biscuit (1996). Another great start for emerging readers.--Jones, Courtney Copyright 2009 Booklist

Review by Horn Book Review

When Biscuit's owner suggests a walk to Grandpa's house, Biscuit barks enthusiastically. The dog, however, has to dig, roll, and visit with animals along the way. Eventually he breaks away from his owner and runs into a store, where they find Grandpa. Appealing illustrations, lots of repetition, and an easily followed story line make this a good choice for emergent readers. (c) Copyright 2010.
