Review by Booklist Review

Dispensing with nearly any formalities or introduction, this entry in the Ultimate Pro Team Guides dives directly into a profile of the Arizona Cardinals and wends its way to the Washington Redskins, with back matter that lists positions, shows a map of the league's 32 team locations, a glossary, and additional print and Web resources. Each two-page spread includes a pithy description of the team's history, a handful of Legends & Stars, a By the Numbers with notable stat leaders, and a couple of anecdotal highlight stories. The layout, with three photos and a cutout of a famous player, is dynamic, if nearly cookie-cutter repetitive. The Sports Illustrated Kids logo on the cover should guarantee this book will find readers, and the snazzy content won't disappoint, though kids with a more established fandom may skip directly to dedicated franchise profiles or graduate to James Buckley Jr.'s more irreverent and in-depth Ultimate Guide to Football (2010). Browsers and newcomers, though, will get a good introduction to important football minutiae here.--Chipman, Ian Copyright 2010 Booklist
