Review by Booklist Review
The books in the Amazing Animals series convey basic information in terse, straightforward sentences, but they dazzle when it comes to the full-page (and large pages at that), dynamically colored photographs of animals in their native habitats. Sharks is attention-grabbing, and has plenty of spectacular underwater shots of the fearsome and majestic creatures coasting through reefs and huge swirls of fish. Select words are defined throughout, and a perfunctory list of additional resources concludes each spaciously designed title, which will painlessly introduce children to some reliable mainstays in the animal world.--Chipman, Ian Copyright 2010 Booklist

Vivid photographs providing up-close views of the daily lives and habits of sharks are the highlights of this slim volume. Minimal text touches on habitat, appearance, food, and offspring, and supplies a folk-story answer to the question, "Why do sharks have a bump on their head?" Reading list, websites. Ind.
